June ‘21: Bahamas Itinerary
/After months of planning, I finally had my birthday trip to Nassau, Bahamas and it was honestly a dream. I left from DC on June 17 and returned early on June 22. I was in a group with 5 of my best friends and we had an unforgettable time. This was my first trip abroad since the pandemic and it felt overdue. Now I’m ready to return to my frequent flyer life.
Travel Restrictions?
In terms of COVID-19, we had to register for a $40 Health Visa and show proof of vaccination to enter the country. During our return, we had to show proof of a negative COVID test to re-enter the United States. Luckily, our hotel administered tests for only $25 per person.
Unfortunately, there’s a 10 pm curfew. However, hotels can stay open as late as they want to, so that’s one guaranteed way to experience some nightlife. I recommend calling in advance to see what hotels will allow people that aren’t guests to visit and try to make a reservation. Also, always carry a physical copy or picture of your negative test or proof of vaccination with you because the hotels and restaurants might ask for it.
Itinerary Time
I spent months planning and researching what to do in Nassau so you don’t have to! I even met some amazing people when I was there that added to the recommendation list. Please enjoy my adorable itinerary below! Click on the picture for the downloadable version with links that I sent to all of my guests.
Here are some highlights from the trip that I definitely recommend:
Visiting the Fish Fry
This is the best way to get a taste of local, traditional cuisine and there are tons of vendors to choose from cooking fresh seafood by the beach.
Renting a Yacht
I used GetMyBoat and found this amazing company that decorated the boat for my birthday, gave me rum cake, and provided us with rum punch. They were outstanding and so fun!
Dining at the Four Seasons
I always love to step outside of the all-inclusive meals and experience fine dining at a neighboring resort. Dune at the Four Seasons was the perfect birthday meal.
