DC's Winter Wonderland
/This Christmas season has been no joke so I owe you all a lot of blogs. Today, I am dropping the four that I owe! As you know, I am a huge advocate for exploring my own backyard. There are so many places to check out this year to get your holiday spirit in full effect. Also, a lot of these places are open until the new year so you have time to see them post-Christmas.
Enchant DC
This huge light maze is definitely a Christmas spectacular. It is a bit pricey but the cute pictures you take will make it worth your while. Ice skate around the maze or wander around while sipping on a boozy hot chocolate. This holiday attraction is great for a date night or group outing but families can enjoy it to.
Zoolights
This is an annual staple on the DC holiday agenda. This is definitely not as impressive as Enchant but great for date nights especially because it is free. Wander around the National Zoo at night and enjoy the animal themed light display.
Downtown Holiday Market
Shop for your loved ones or yourself at the annual huge holiday market. There is always great food and unique trinkets here so it is a must-see every year. It is also close to another great winter location, Wunter Garten. This is an outdoor holiday beer garden with festive drinks and great food.
Winter Igloos
For people looking to get cozy (and spend some coins) this season, I recommend heading to the top of The Watergate Hotel. There are igloos that you and your pals can rent for a night of snacks, cocktails, and luxury. This is a pricey option for sure but split between friends, the food and drink minimum is not as bad.
Hook Hall Chalet
This is at the top of my list for holiday places that I still need to visit. Imagine a ski chalet in the middle of DC. Hook Hall offers cozy, Alps ski lodge vibes along with an extensive beer list and blankets. You can also rent a private cabana for a pretty reasonable price that comes with food deals, a complimentary bottle of champagne and outlets for you and your guests to charge your phones.
The Overall Tea:
There are so many things to do in DC during the holiday season but most are outdoors. Bundle up, grab a boozy hot chocolate and enjoy your holiday season.
