Are you searching for a hot, boozy holiday beverage? Look no further! This traditional Cade recipe is a holiday party favorite because the apple brandy cider is flaming. With only 5 ingredients, this cider has a touch of dramatic flair that always makes the crowd go wild.

Ingredients

1 gallon of apple cider
750 mL of Applejack Brandy
3 oranges
3 cinnamon sticks
Whole cloves

Directions

1. Fill a large pot halfway with water and put the jug of apple cider with the cap off inside of the pot. Place the pot on the stove at medium level heat. Repeat this process with the bottle of brandy so that you have two separate pots heating both of your liquids on the stove.
2. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Prepare the baking sheet by wrapping it with foil. Using a paring knife, cut three slits into the top of each orange. Insert a cinnamon stick into each slit. Stick as many whole cloves as you’d like into the rest of the outside of the orange.
3. Put the oranges in the oven for about 15 minutes or until the orange juice starts to leak out onto the baking sheet and your home is filled with the delightful scent of holiday bliss.
4. Once the liquids are warm, cut off the heat. Place the oranges into the bottom of a large, heat-resistant pot or punch bowl. Pour the warm brandy on top of the oranges. At this time you can add some pizzazz to your presentation by dimming the lights in the room and using a lighter to set the brandy on fire!
5. After the crowd has watched the flames dance in the bottom of the bowl, pour the apple cider on top to put out the fire and complete your drink.
6. Serve the cider warm and enjoy. Leftover cider can be stored in the refrigerator, enjoyed cold, or reheated.

Tip: If the cider alone cannot put out the fire, cover the bowl with the lid of a pot.
